Freaky Friday... The Towering Hive

Recent sightings of Amy Winehouse find that mess of a hairdo defying gravity by getting higher and higher.

I'm quite impressed really! I know how hard it is to keep the hair up considering I had a foot high mohawk/spikes back in my goth punk days and had to use Knox gelatin and Aqua Net Extra Super Hold to keep it up. It takes a lot of work to maximize the height and I don't think she really uses much except for hair extensions, A LOT of teasing and some spray.



It's also great to see that Amy is prepared for her future!

If people finally stop buying her music and supporting her crack habit, I'm sure she can always get a job as one of the Royal Guard as she's already sporting the busby.

Behold the building of the beehive with wee soul singer Amy Winehouse, who was filmed in a British train station, piling up the rat's nest on her haid -- and it clearly takes a lot of work to look that trashy! This tireless effort may explain how she stays so thin!

Back In Black Wino Has Moment of Clarity

Hallelujah! Now I can take a break from doodling that rancid hive while she gets the help that she needs. Yes, yes, yes!

NOTE: You may have noticed a lack of Doodle Whore posts this week. Except for Wino's decision to go to rehab and that horrid Victorya getting the boot on Project Runway, there's been so much bad news. First Heath's death, and then my uncle passed away the same day. Let's just say it's been a challenging week, not conducive to doodling at all. I'll be doing what I do best when I'm back in my comfortable rut middle of next week.

Tippi Crackhouse

My latest interpretation of Yellow Winehouse comes courtesy of faithful Doodle Whore commenter Jay Are. He suggested that I interpret her as the legendary Tippi Hedren, star of Hitchcock's masterpiece (and one of my all time fave films), The Birds. If you don't find murderous birds all that frightening, check out this video of Amy smoking crack. Now that's scary.

Sandy Winehouse CRACK-er Pitchwoman

First, Amy chopped off her black beehive and dyed it blond. Naturally, I doodled her as Tweety and Marilyn. Then I asked my loyal Doodle Whore readers to tell me how I should interpret Yellow Winehouse next. This fabulous suggestion comes courtesy of fellow blogger Joe To Hell. For those of you too young to remember, Sandy Duncan was a superstar of television and stage, famous for her pixie blond hairdo, perky demeanor, Wheat Thins commercials, and most importantly, her glass eye. As a child of the 70's and 80's (cough cough) there was nothing funnier than bringing up Sandy Duncan's glass eye in casual conversation to really get a laugh out of your friends. Swap out Sandy for Amy thirty years later and it's still funny. Thanks, Joe!

Upon viewing the latest pics of Yellow Winehouse I immediately thought one thing: Tweety Bird. Hey, it's a huge step forward from her 2007 cadaverous skeleton look. I'm thrilled that she decided to say no, no, no to that big black rat's nest teeming with split ends and bad memories (and spiders?) for a bright and sunny new do.

Picture it: the unsightly pallor, spiders emerging from her ratty beehive, bandaged after compulsively self-mutilating, wearing a ratty hospital gown and dirty ballet slippers. The most frightening thing about this doodle is that she's not even dressed for Halloween. Things aren't looking good for Ms. Winehouse at the moment. Someone please get this downward spiraling chanteuse an intervention already. She's beginning to make Britney look well adjusted in comparison which is never a good sign.
