The DEVIL in His EYE ...

YES, this 19 year old Milanese, and yet another handsome professional soccer player, IVAN is a natural in front of the camera. In the few months that he has been with BEATRICE MEN he has done an incredible editorial in SLURP MAGAZINE, which will be on the news stands shortly, I shot him in my fragrance editorial for GIB MAGAZINE and IVAN is one of my favorite muses that will be featured in my 'coffee table' book. Ivan has a natural raw sensuality in the camera that I want to capture again and again, he has the DEVIL in his EYE ...

PATRICK KAFKA is SATURDAY'S CHILD ...

Here is a sneak preview of the editorial I shot today, a muse, the elegantly handsome PATRICK KAFKA from Vienna, my excellent discovery this past Autumn, the winner of the Wiener Model's Supermodel Next Generation contest, represented in Milan by Beatrice Men. Not only does 17 year old Patrick have a 'killer' look, he is also, at this young age a seasoned traveler, has sophisticated culinary taste and is very bright.

PERFECTION ...

I think it is only fitting on Valentine's Day to speak of a man that makes our hearts skip a beat and then some ... The breathtakingly handsome Viennese ex fireman, Michael Gstoettner was another of my pleasant discoveries last year in Vienna thanks to Maciek at Next Company Models. Immediately, he catapulted to stardom, shooting major advertising campaigns such as the Versace Man fragrance, Bally, Ermanno Scervino, John Richmond, various editorials and super successful show seasons with Beatrice Models in Milan. I remember my first meeting with Michael, I was embarrassed by his beauty ... he is in person as handsome as he is in his photos. Tall, elegant, flawless skin, beautiful eyes and a sexy killer smile! In these past 2 season's of representing him in Milan, I also was able to get to know him well, he has remained the simple fireman, humble, down to earth, warm and affectionate and always a pleasure to work with. I still have not had the pleasure to shoot him, I am waiting for the perfect project to use this perfect man, Michael Gstoettner is PERFECTION ...

My Number ONE

About 8 years ago, I had been working a few years already as a booker at Beatrice Men, when the Viennese agency Wiener Models owner, Andrea Weidler, invited me to be a judge at their model contest, one of the prizes awarded to the male model winner would be a photo shoot by me in Milan and representation at Beatrice Models. This would become an annual event for me that I undertake yearly with great enthusiasm and has become a font for new exciting talent on which i will detail on future blog postings. On this first Vienna adventure, one of the contestants was this young professional soccer player with bright blue eyes, a chipped tooth smile and overly plucked eyebrows, but underneath his head full of gel, I understood this boy had potential. I organized him to visit me in Milan when his eyebrows had grown in and to leave the gel at home. A few months later, Domenique Melchior in his baseball hat arrived in Milan, where I did his first photos and was amazed of his presence in the camera. It was in those fabulous times before digital, so I had to anxiously wait a few days to see what I had captured on film but it was obvious a star was born. He showed beauty, personality, a nonchalance and a willingness to learn from the first click of my camera. In a matter of weeks Domenique shot the AYOR campaign with the photographer Lorenzo Marcucci and started working with frequency for important photographers as Michael Roberts, Karl Lagerfeld, Aldo Fallai and Bruce Weber for magazines as GQ and L'UOMO VOGUE and various advertising including multiple times for Giorgio Armani. Domenique continues to be a super successful international model and friend. Domenique, you will always be my #1.
