I have not shot the blue eyed Australian surfer BEN WADDELL since my shoot for THE ROOM issue #5 in the Autumn of 2006, here are out takes the magazine made the mistake of not publishing, the standing one of Ben is one of my favorites.

I am happy that sometimes old seems so new.....

PATRICK KAFKA is SATURDAY'S CHILD ...

Here is a sneak preview of the editorial I shot today, a muse, the elegantly handsome PATRICK KAFKA from Vienna, my excellent discovery this past Autumn, the winner of the Wiener Model's Supermodel Next Generation contest, represented in Milan by Beatrice Men. Not only does 17 year old Patrick have a 'killer' look, he is also, at this young age a seasoned traveler, has sophisticated culinary taste and is very bright.

He made this Saturday's shoot a snap...

WONDERBOYS

One of my favorite photos, I shot it with my baby, my PENTAX 6X7. This photo will always be very special for me, as it was from the first time I had shot with this camera. The loud click the camera makes with each shot is music to my ears. Film is my drug. Give me this camera, some TRI-X film and a little natural light and I have my fix. The Canadian model, Michael Brienza was an excellent choice to experiment with, thanks to our synergy in these photos , he was confirmed for the international advertising campaign for BIOTHERME. Recently, the beautiful Budapest based fashion magazine 'THE ROOM', in Issue #7, used this photo in their men's beauty editorial 'WONDERBOYS'. A magic moment, frozen forever in time ...

REAL MEN ...

Two of my favorite shots from my HOBO SAPIENS editorial in THE ROOM issue #5, it was a sunny but cold early autumn weekend, lots of stress as it was shot in a outdoor location which was changed 24 hours before the shoot as the original location was denied permission. I had to reorganized all last minute and I also did the grooming for the four models. But happily it was the start of my working for this very stylish Hungarian fashion magazine which gave me carte blanche for my creativity. I will put up the full editorial in another entry. Thanks to my muse Jeremy Frisbee, the other models and the fashion editor Emil Rebek.

BRIAN JANKIC muse of mine

The 25 year old Brian Jankic', Croatian born but raised in Germany, started his career in Milan with Beatrice Models. A little over 3 years ago he stumbled into the agency without a book, looking for representation. I soon shot Brian which would be the first of many photographic adventures we shared along with a common interest in tattoos. A synergy between us grew and over the years I have shot Brian for his portfolio, my upcoming photographic art book and editorials in GIB , FLASH and THE ROOM magazines. I have watched Brian grow as a awkward insecure boy unsure of himself, his language skills and his capabilities in front of the camera into a handsome, talented, polyglot, a wonderful friend and successful model. He now is constantly traveling between the states and Europe so we do not get the chance to collaborate as much as I would like but a strong sincere friendship has been forged, and I am sure Brian will remain an inspiration for me and other photographers, a muse ...
