This makeover included all new bedding, a custom made upholstered headboard, six custom made pillows and window treatments, new window hardware and shades, a new paint job and various accessories. Now, can you guess the final price tag? Most of the labor was donated and the final price was mainly for materials. A crafty DIY type could do this makeover for the same price. The final budget will be revealed on air.

We're finally finished! Today was the day that the WHDH crew came out to film me putting the final touches on this master bedroom makeover and also my clients' reactions. What fun! The finished segment will air in a couple of weeks (official date to come) and will also be available to view online.

I ran over to my clients house today to measure the curtains on the windows before I hemmed them. The two windows in the room aren't the same size, so it was easier to get the panels made, bring 'em over and pin them.

We've added Textured Woven roller shades, from Country Curtains, which are made from Pacific cane paper. They are environmentally friendly as well as attractive.

The walls have been painted in Benjamin Moore's Oriental Iris.
The painting work was generously donated by: Nelson Painting

Room for Improvement - Headboard!

I stopped by the upholsterer today to check on the headboard. And it is fabulous! Walter Heller of Heller Furniture is a master. I love stopping by his shop to see all the different works in progress. Tired old furniture with stains and rips go in and come out looking better than new. His headboards are particularly beautiful - he showed me a curved board that will have a shirred fabric border that looked like it would be particularly special when finished.

Meanwhile, this headboard has the clean, contemporary lines that we were going for in the space.

I did a little accessory shopping as well. These mosaic pieces will add sparkle to the space.

And this interesting piece is part sculpture and part vase.

I've been busy at the sewing machine this week!

This lovely small plaid with trim adds a touch of elegance to the mix while...

this cute little striped pillow, made from the window treatment fabrics, introduces all the colors of our palette.

The headboard should be finished soon and we're heading in the final stretches of the project. Final accessories, a couple of additional pillows (of course!) and then it's time to install and film for broadcast on WHDH!
