Julia and Grant

Most of you know that I just LOVE to cook.
I always have loved it and I find it strangly very relaxing and peaceful.
To me nothing is better at the end of the day to be a the ktichen and be creative.
I love throwing dinner parties and also just making dinner just for myself.
I am really excited for the upcoming movie Julie and Julia as I just adore Julia Child.
It is pretty much a secret that I keep from most people- but I am letting the cat out of the bag.
I had the great honor of meeting Julia Child when she moved from Boston to Santa Barbara.
Not only did I have the pleasure of meeting with her and sitting with her for a few hours talking about everything from movies to politics- but I had the SCARY pleasure of cooking for her too! I can't tell you how nervous I was cooking for her. My hands were shaking and I measured everything so perfectly- as I wanted it to be just perfect. The good news is that the lovely Julia Child ate every bite and even had seconds! It was a sucessful day. It is day that I will never forget.
I have this photo in a little silver frame on my kitchen window sill and I feel like when I cook- it is like Julia and I are together and she is watching over me.
