The Hills Deconstructed: Heidi reacts to stimuli

It may just be MTV's ingenious editing, but I've noticed that Heidi tends to have a delayed reaction to assorted stimuli. Like when Elody passive aggressively ripped her a new asshole for being such a crappy friend. Or when her boss chewed her out. Or when Jen Bunney told her that Spencer was indeed the one spreading the sex tape rumors.

• Figure 1: her standard blank and empty expression lasts for about 3 seconds after the introduction of scripted stimulus.

• Figure 2: moments later, the light bulb of awareness begins to glow, alerting her brain to send the required chemical signals to her facial features.

• Figure 3: finally, she exhibits her signature Frowny Face of Acknowledgment. Heidi = sad.
