I almost forgot! The other Linda Merrill, who's name comes ahead of mine in a google search, is the author of the amazing book, "The Peacock Room", about the story of "The magnificent Peacock Room, decorated by James McNeill Whistler in 1876-77 for wealthy London shipowner Frederick Leyland, quickly became one of the most controversial, celebrated, and scandalous rooms in the world." I read the book and it's a fascinating story - full of art, artistes, ego and scandal. The entire room was moved to America and is now part of the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery.
