The Whiting and Davis silver mesh handbag belonged to my mother, Dorothy, which was given to her by my father on their first married Christmas, circa 1954. My Dad also gave Mom the silver rhinestone brooch to the right of the bag early on in their marriage. Both are still going strong, but Mom felt I had more use for them (ok, I kept borrowing them and finally she said keep 'em! - helps to be the only daughter).
I haven't added anything quite this fabulous to my dresser top bling collection, but am keeping my eyes open. Meanwhile, I'm just lucky that I have such beautiful, and personal, treasures from the three most important women in my life, which really, is the true treasure.
How do you treasure your past?
