The problem with special events and parties is that you can spend months planning, hours implementing, and then it's over in a flash! Hence, the "hangover" effect. The South Shore Conservatory held its big annual gala fundraiser last night - "Chase Away the Winter Blues". I was on the organizing committee and was in charge of the party design (of course). We had a lot of fun coming up with a bluesy atmosphere in the main hall (below) and three performance spaces. The blue martinis and pull pork flowed, the bidding was high at the silent auction and money was raised for the ongoing programs of this great institution that has been training performers - children and adult - for over 25 years. Note, this artwork is part of a college by Gary Nisbet created specially for this event and which was auctioned off last evening.
